UPSC Syllabus For Combined Medical Service Examination 2017

There CMS Examination Would be in Two Parts-
Part - I: In this there will be a Computer Based Examination of 500 Marks.- The Candidates will take the computer based examination in two papers, Each paper carrying a maximum of 250 Marks. Each Paper will be of 02 Hour Duration.

Part - II: In this there will be a Personality Test carrying 100 Marks of such of the candidates who qualify on the results of the computer based examination.

(1). About Computer Based Examination - (For Paper I): Weightage and the Syllabus of First Paper Given Below:
      Paper I (Code No. 1)           Maximum Marks - 250
      (i) General Ability               30 Questions
      (ii) General Medicine           70 Questions
      (iii) Paediatrics                   20 Questions

Total Question in Paper I = 120 Questions (General Ability[30], General Medicine[70], Paediatrics[20])

Compensatory Time of 20 Minutes Per Hour shall be permitted to the candidates with Locomotors Disability And Cerebral Palsy where Dominant (Writing) Extermity is affected to the extent of slowing the performance of function (Minimum of 40% Impairment.)

   (ii) Natural Resources, their Distribution, Exploitation, Conservation and Related Issues.

   (v) Indian Agriculture, Industry, Trade, Transportation and Service Sectors.
   (vi) Natural and man made disasters and their management.
   (vii) Food adulteration, Food processing, Food distribution, Food storage and their relevance to public health.
   (viii) Recent Trends in Science and Technology.

(General Medicine Including Cardiology, Neurology, Dermatology and Psychiatry)
